About This Summer Camp
One-week day camp that focuses on jazz, pop, and rock styles in vocal and instrumental music. Small and large group ensembles, private lessons, studio recording, and special break-out sessions in songwriting will all be part of this camp week.
Real world artists will lead the camp and offer workshops in music technology, how to succeed in music, and marketing yourself in the music scene. Students will have the opportunity to compose and record their own music in a world-class recording studio.
This camp is provided by the AEGIS grant.
There is no cost to participate! This camp is being provided by the Academic Enrichment for Gifted/Talented in Summer Grant through the Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Camp is open to all Arkansas students entering grades 7-12 who have an interest in singing or playing a musical instrument. Instruments include: strings, guitar, winds, brass, & percussion. Students do not need to have any previous jazz experience. Instrumental students need to have at least one year of experience playing their instrument.
