What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is an evidence-based practice that provides therapeutic results when offered by a credentialed professional. Studies have shown that music stimulates many of the senses facilitating developmental skills, it manages pain and stress, it motivates and calms children, and encourages socialization, self-expression, communication, and motor development. Through the use of music strategies, both vocal and instrumental, therapists are able to facilitate changes in physical, psychological, cognitive, and social behavior. Individuals on the spectrum with attention issues to autism may be treated through music therapy with great results.
In light of the pandemic and crisis we are facing across the world, we believe that this program is especially timely. Music Therapy is key to dealing with the vast array of needs kids are facing right now. Children and young people everywhere are coping with fear, lack of socialization, feelings of isolation, and overall emotional trauma. Music Therapy makes a difference socially, emotionally, and physically and literally brings hope and vitality to our children and youth.
Therapy can be provided on-site or online!
