Ilvina Gabrielian comes from Russia. After earning a Specialist’s Diploma degree at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory (Saint Petersburg, Russia), where she studied with the violin professor Alexander Stang, Ilvina came to the United States to further her education. She was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas, where she studied with the violin professor David Colwell and earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Violin Performance. Currently, Ilvina is finishing an Artist’s Certificate program at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where she studies with the violin professor Benny Kim and holds a Concertmaster Fellowship. Throughout her studies, Ilvina has participated in solo and chamber masterclasses with such outstanding musicians as Gil Shaham, Zlatomir Fung, Frank
Huang, Michael Stern, Stephanie Chase, Benjamin Beilman, and Jun Iwasaki.
As an active musician, Ilvina has performed solo and chamber works in many venues within the United States and abroad and participated in various music festivals including Kent Blossom Music Festival in Ohio, Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, Heartland Chamber Music Festival in Kansas, and Muzikale Oktober Best in the Netherlands. In addition to being a dedicated solo and chamber musician, Ilvina is a rotating concertmaster of the UMKC Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, and she regularly performs as an orchestral musician with the Kansas City Symphony, Park ICM Orchestra, Missouri Symphony Orchestra, and NAVO Orchestra.
