Dance Classes

_DSC0353_edited.jpg

Dance is a wonderful form of expression that with proper training, can develop into grace and beauty.  Dance at CSA begins as early as age 3 with the focus on creativity, imagination, and

pre-ballet techniques.  By age 6, instruction focuses on formal ballet and tap techniques with emphasis on self-control of the body.  By age 8, elements of jazz, hip-hop and musical theatre

are introduced.

CSA offers wonderful instructors who are trained in both classical dance as well as pop and jazz forms and musical theatre choreography.  Private lessons

as well as group classes

are available.

Classes meet weekly.

Ballet

Ballet is known as “the foundation of all dance.” It gives dancers a solid understanding of technique which leads to success in other styles of dance. Intro to Ballet and Ballet Technique will build students from the ground up. In the course, students will learn proper technique, terminology, and etiquette. This course is technique based; however, students will learn at least 1 lyrical dance and 1 jazz dance that encompasses the technique they learn in class. Having a strong technique will help students stand out in auditions and help them as they nurture a future in performance.

Musical Theatre Choreography

This course will provide students a chance to learn Musical Theatre styles from Vaudeville all the way to Hamilton! Students will be exposed to the world of Broadway learning original choreography to upbeat and lyrical musical theatre staples. Dancers have the unique ability of being able to convey emotion through all ends of the spectrum. The course will prepare students for a future of storytelling and unique artistry. This course is choreography based, but there will also be a focus on technique. Previous dance experience is not required, but it certainly will not hurt!
